We believe in complete transparency. Here's exactly how we handle your data (spoiler: we don't collect any).

All your data is stored locally on your device only. This includes:
This data is stored using iOS's built-in secure storage (UserDefaults) and is never transmitted to any external server. When you delete the app, all data is permanently removed from your device.
To provide you with accurate product information and ingredient analysis, we use the following third-party services:
When you scan a barcode, we query Open Food Facts (a public, open-source food products database) to retrieve product information and ingredients. This request only contains the barcode number - no personal information is shared.
Ingredient lists are analyzed using AI to detect potential allergens. The analysis only processes the ingredient text - no personal data, device identifiers, or intolerance profiles are sent. Your intolerance profile is matched locally on your device after receiving the analysis.
We've architected our app so that third-party services only receive the minimum data needed to function (barcode numbers and ingredient texts). They never receive any information that could identify you.
Intolerances Check does not require you to create an account. You don't need to provide:
Simply download the app, set up your intolerance profile locally, and start scanning products immediately.
Intolerances Check offers premium features through Apple's In-App Purchase system. All purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store.
We do not:
Your subscription status is verified through Apple's StoreKit framework and stored locally on your device.
Intolerances Check requests camera access solely to scan product barcodes. We do not:
The camera feed is processed in real-time to detect barcodes and is never saved or transmitted.
Our app is safe for users of all ages. Since we don't collect any personal information, there's no risk of collecting data from children. Parents can feel confident letting their children use the app to learn about food safety.
If we ever update this privacy policy, we will post the changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Since we don't collect email addresses, we cannot notify you directly - we encourage you to check this page periodically.
Our commitment to not collecting your data will remain unchanged.
